Then and Now
Bright is now a busy tourist destination and a popular venue for many sporting competitions and activities. Mountain bike riding, rock climbing, abseiling, paragliding and hang-gliding attract visitors from Australia and overseas alike.
Most of the roads in and around the town are now bitumen and paved walkways and modern shops line t
he main streets. Signs are on almost every corner pointing the way to motels, flats and camping grounds, cars vie for parking spaces along the busy thoroughfares and onlookers sip their cafe lattes from one to the many outside eating venues.
The Bright we see today is quite unlike the Bright of years ago and through the pages of this publication we can glimpse back to those early days when our busy little town was so very very different.
